Inspired by the organization seen in Minnesota, we are working to strengthen our own community response.

This training will inform participants about how to safely support our neighbors who may be affected by unjust immigration enforcement.

This is in-person training at a location in the Tempe/Mesa area. The exact location will be sent to participants after registration.

This is an interactive learning series that explores a different topic each session with an expert in that area.

This is followed by an opportunity to practice engaging in meaningful conversations around that topic, through guided sessions.

The National Immigration Project - Community Defender Training

This training will help community defenders understand how habeas petitions are used in the immigration detention context and go over the

basic elements of a pro se petition for the most common scenarios. This training is for non-attorney advocates, including organizers, and others

supporting detained community members.

This interactive session equips participants with the principles and practical tools of non-violent direct action. Rooted in a rich history of social

Winnable - Become a Local Listener

Join us for The DNC’s Local Listeners Bootcamp, a seven-week virtual training series that will prepare volunteers like you to become trusted,

community-rooted organizers. You’ll become a part of a nationwide, online community to ensure we continue to hear from and understand

what voters are feeling.

In this training program, you’ll learn how to:
👂 Listen deeply and engage people with empathy
🤝 Become a part of a nationwide feedback loop to make sure we continue to hear from and understand what voters are feeling
🏘️ Have effective conversations with friends, family, neighbors, and online communities

Maricopa County Recorder - Deputy Registrar Recertification Seminar

To ensure you are fully prepared to address questions regarding voter registration and the voting process, all Deputy Registrars (DRs) are

required to attend one informational update—either online or at a community-based event—to activate your status for the 2026 election

cycle. Certification lets you volunteer at official MCRO/Elections events, take educational classes, and attend special events.

To attend, Deputy Registrars should respond to an email from the Constituent Service Officer (Matthew Roberts) or contact the Deputy

Registrar at matthew.roberts@maricopa.gov.

DRs who do not complete this requirement will be placed in inactive status but may reactivate at any time by attending a supplemental

recertification session. Supplemental sessions will be held at the Recorder’s Office in Phoenix in August and October. Deputy Registrars who

have served at a USCIS naturalization ceremony within the past 12 months are exempt from this update requirement.

This training is for current, new or anyone interested in becoming a precinct committee person. Learn strategies to be an effective

community organizer in your area. Understand how the party structure and political party works. You will be given new tools to engage

voters.
